There’s no airport in Makkah
Makkah doesn't have its own airport. For Umrah you fly into Jeddah, about 1 hour 15 minutes away, or into Madinah and take the Haramain train, about 2 hours 20 minutes.

Ihram on the flight
If you fly to Jeddah and go straight to Makkah for Umrah, you cross the miqat in the air before landing. Put on ihram before boarding, or on board before the crew's miqat announcement, and make your intention then. If you fly to Madinah first, you put on ihram later, in Madinah, before heading to Makkah.
Getting from Jeddah to Makkah
Taxis and pre-booked cars take about 1 hour 15 minutes to central Makkah. The Haramain train runs from the airport station to Makkah station, and then it's a short taxi to the Haram. More about the Haramain train.
