Umrah visa from the UK
Everything a British passport holder needs: which visa, what it costs, how to apply and the Nusuk permits.

Which visa do you need?
British passport holders can perform Umrah on the Saudi tourist eVisa. It's applied for online, it includes the required medical insurance, and Umrah is explicitly allowed on it. You don't need a special Umrah visa through an agent.
The official eVisa is a one-year multiple-entry visa. Check the current stay limit on the official site before you travel.
How much does it cost?
The official tourist eVisa costs about SAR 535, roughly £110 per person, with the insurance included. Agencies often charge £150 to £250 for the same visa because they add a processing fee.
How to apply, step by step
- Go to the official site, visa.visitsaudi.com.
- Enter your passport details. Your passport needs at least six months' validity from your arrival date.
- Upload a passport photo and pay by card.
- The eVisa usually arrives by email within minutes to a few days. Print a copy.
- Install the Nusuk app and book your Umrah permit and, in Madinah, your Rawdah permit. Both are free.
The Nusuk app: Umrah and Rawdah permits
The visa lets you into Saudi Arabia. Separately, you book a free Umrah permit in the Nusuk app for a time slot to perform Umrah, and a Rawdah permit to pray in the Rawdah at Masjid an-Nabawi. Rawdah slots go quickly, especially in Ramadan, so book as soon as your dates are set.
When you can’t get an Umrah visa
Umrah visas are usually paused for several weeks around Hajj, roughly from a few weeks after Ramadan until shortly after Hajj ends. Exact dates are set by the Saudi authorities each year. Our search leaves those dates out automatically.
Women and children
Women aged 18 and over can travel and perform Umrah on the tourist eVisa without a mahram. Children travel on the same eVisa, applied for with a parent or guardian.
