Flying into Madinah
Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport is about 25 minutes by taxi from the Prophet's Mosque. Flying into Madinah first means you don't need ihram on the plane: you spend your days in Madinah, put on ihram before leaving for Makkah, and take the Haramain train.
Prices from the UK
Fares to Madinah are thinner than to Jeddah. In recent searches from London, one-way fares started from about £149, typically about £191, mostly with one stop via Istanbul or Europe (Pegasus, AJet, Wizz Air, easyJet). Seasonal direct flights do run at times, so check live prices.
As of 7 October 2026. From Manchester and Birmingham there were too few recent fares to show.
Into Madinah, home from Jeddah
The most popular route for Umrah is flying into Madinah and home from Jeddah, or the other way round. It saves a long road trip back and is often cheaper than a return to one airport. See Madinah-first trips from London.
